My name is Christopher and I am 5 years old. I live in Peru and attend the Peru-CDC program. . At home I like to play with my mom and dad. At church I like to attend my therapy sessions. I also like lights and lamps and bubbles.
This Peruvian child development center -- in a low-income, urban community -- welcomes children with disabilities, providing holistic support through a variety of opportunities. Physical therapy and nutritious lunches improve bodily health. Emotional well-being is enhanced through workshops, for parents and children, that address psychological needs. In addition, staff work with the children to help them communicate their needs to their parents, and they make home visits to ensure that families can, and are, caring for their children to the best of their ability. Bible lessons, and spiritual nurture, uplift young hearts. Fun and celebration are enjoyed through activities for Christmas, International Children's Day, Mother's Day and other holidays. The center's goal is to improve the standard of living for the children and their families, by sharing knowledge and Christ's love.
