My name is Luis and I am 16 years old. I live in Peru and attend the Peru-CDC program. I have 2 brothers and 1 sister. At home I like to help at my parents' convenient store and clean. At church I like to read the Bible in my class and learn Bible verses. I also like to discover new things and inventions.
This Peruvian child development center serves vulnerable children living in a very poor community, in which children are relied upon to work in order to help support their families. As a result, many children do not attend school, or must attend for only short periods at a time, because school costs and lost income are too much for the families to manage. The center supports children through nutritious breakfasts and regular medical care, enhancing physical health. Recreational time and outdoor sporting activities provide social skills and the opportunity to play. Bible lessons and Sunday School classes, taught by trustworthy and caring Christian staff, inspire spiritual growth and testify to God's love for children and their families. Parents are invited to participate when possible, to reinforce strong relationships and improve family life.
