My name is Norditozinho and I am 17 years old. I live in Mozambique and attend the Mozambique-CDC program. I have 1 brother and 1 sister. At home I like to help around the house. I also like running.
Nearly half of the children in this community are orphans, and many of them live on the streets with no guarantee of food, access to education, or safe places to sleep at night. This child development center in Mozambique provides a safe haven for children who have no living relatives to care for them. A home has been dedicated to their shelter, and the children are welcomed. The center is open five days a week and encourages school attendance by providing uniforms and helping to pay school fees. Children receive nutritious food, and they also benefit from being taught life and vocational skill. As part of community health initiatives, the staff provide preventative education about HIV and AIDS and child abuse awareness training. The center offers spiritual guidance through Bible lessons; children receive real examples of the love of Christ through the way the staff love them. This center strives to equip children to make wise, healthy choices and to find hope.
