More about my program
Our Church's Child Development Project, began in 2003 after an apparent need for the Church to intervene in a crisis of child neglect and poverty that has befallen our community. The Church started to raise food parcel for the neediest children, and provided meals for children every Monday to Friday. Most of them are either from unemployed families or are themselves HIV/Aids orphans or abandoned to be raised by their grand parents or relatives.
The project seeks to address the needs of vulnerable kids who live under poverty stricken conditions and abuse; by caring for their physical needs (provide meals for them daily), spiritual needs (teach them the Word of God), emotional needs (give them counseling ), intellectual needs (help them with their home work), social needs (help them to develop social activities such as cultural music dance, drama, poetry and life skills are provided to help them develop healthy relationships with their peers and family).
